Think of Scottish Country Dance as a gentle form of aerobic exercise. Set dancing which is very easy, every dance is simple just ask the proponents of this sport.
The name of the dances invokes interesting thought trails - Strip the Willow, Wind on Loch Fyne, Clutha, Reel of the 51st, Round Reel of Eight, De'el among the Tailors, confused yet? Shifting bobbins, Trip to Bavaria. You need to get to a Scottish Country Dance Social to get a handle on these.
And here's how:
Brunswick Scottish Society meet on the following Saturday evenings through out the year, Brunswick West (next to the Bowling Club) in Albert Street West Brunswick. An extra special evening in June The Tartan Ball at Brunswick Town Hall in Sydney Road.
